1st Year Advanced Class:
Developing the Connection in the Saddle
Class participants will have the opportunity to develop a deeper level of two-way communication that can be taken in any direction. Understanding is the foundation of all true horsemanship and any discipline is welcome. Riders will go home with new insights and helpful exercises to connect with their equine partner in the saddle. Topics covered include: horse care, stable management, horse psychology, training, and effective riding. Skills learned include: gaits (walk, trot, lope), stop, backing, flexion, leg positions, zones of the horse, softness (lateral & vertical collection), shoulder control, yielding forequarters, side passing, yielding hindquarters.
You must have finished Horsemanship 1 & 2.
2nd Year Advanced Class:
Taking it to the Next Level
We will be taking you and your equine partner to the next level! Horsemanship is true partnership, one which brings meaning to both horse and human and provides tools for continued growth. This is really the essence of everything equine. A person could dedicate a lifetime to working at this level and never run out of things to learn. Topics covered include: Horse health, horse diseases and disorders. We will be fine tuning the skills that you learned in first year such as softness (lateral & vertical collection), shoulder control, yielding forequarters, side passing, yielding hindquarters, two tracking, rollbacks, and leads. Of course, we have many new challenges for you and your horse while putting it all into motion.
You must have finished Horsemanship 1 through 3 & 1st year Advanced Class.
