The South Dakota retreat with Michelle Jerry Horsemanship was so much more than a week with horses —it was filled with laughter, learning, challenges, a few tears, and friendships I will always treasure. I came hoping to grow and strengthen my connection with Kodee, but I didn’t expect how deeply this experience would touch my heart. There were moments of frustration, fear and being pushed outside my comfort zone, and yes, even tears—but also so much laughter. The kind that comes from being surrounded by people who truly understand the love and journey we share with our horses. What made it even more special were the people. We arrived as strangers brought together by horses, but left feeling like a little horse family—sharing stories, struggles, wins, encouragement, and memories we won’t forget. A huge thank you to Michelle’s incredible team for your patience, support, knowledge, and kindness through every moment—the easy ones, the hard ones, and everything in between. You helped make this week unforgettable. Michelle has a gift that goes beyond horsemanship. She helps you believe in yourself, knowing exactly when to challenge you, when to encourage you, and when to simply stand in your corner. Being in South Dakota with Kodee, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far we’ve come. It hasn’t always been easy, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I came for the horses, but I’m leaving with so much more —deeper connection with Kodee, lasting friendships, fuller memories, and a stronger belief in myself. Thank you, Michelle, your team, and everyone who shared this week with us. ❤ South Dakota wasn’t just a destination—it was a reminder of what connection, growth, and community truly feel like. Until the next adventure… keep believing, keep learning, and never stop chasing that connection.

Michelle Jerry's Heart & Hooves South Dakota Riding Retreat is an experience I'll never forget. Each day we rode on thoughtfully planned trails that showcased some of the most spectacular scenery the Black Hills has to offer. From towering granite formations and winding forest trails to open meadows, peaceful creeks, and breathtaking overlooks, each ride revealed something new. The beauty of the Black Hills is simply unforgettable, and experiencing it from horseback makes it even more special. One of my favorite parts of the retreat was the camaraderie that naturally developed on the trails. Spending hours in the saddle together, sharing stories, encouraging one another through new challenges, laughing along the way, and taking in the incredible views created lasting friendships. Michelle does an amazing job planning each day's ride so there's a perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, and opportunities to enjoy the landscape. Her love for horses, the Black Hills, and sharing both with others is evident in every detail. The hospitality is second to none. Each morning began with a wonderful breakfast, and after a full day of riding, we looked forward to incredible home-cooked dinners prepared by Francis. The meals, the conversations around camp, and the welcoming atmosphere made camp feel like home. If you're looking for more than just a horseback vacation—if you want incredible riding, spectacular scenery, genuine friendships, outstanding hospitality, and memories you'll cherish for years to come—I can't recommend Michelle and Francis's Heart & Hooves South Dakota Riding Retreat enough. It is truly an unforgettable experience.

“I had an amazing time out at Hell Canyon for the Heart & Hooves Trail Retreat. It was truly an experience I’ll never forget. The trails were absolutely magnificent, with incredible scenery and some unforgettable rides.
Francis’ cooking was some of the best I’ve ever had. After spending the day out on the trails, coming back to a great meal made the experience even better.
The whole retreat was a wonderful combination of great horses, beautiful country, good food, and great people. There’s something pretty special about spending your days horseback in country like that and sharing the experience with people who enjoy it just as much as you do.
The Heart & Hooves Trail Retreat was an incredible adventure, and I’m grateful I had the opportunity to be a part of it. I’d definitely do it again!”
